Ancestral Awakening is supposed to "double dip" with Purification, but generally it's not supposed to double dip with other effects – whether the increase or reduce the amount of healing it does.
I know this from prior experience, but I can back it up to some degree with a report from a user on Wowhead.
The comment was posted during patch 3.0.2 when the talent was new and everyone was testing it to see what it could do.

Double dipping with Purification a relatively minor thing, but in a build like mine that revolves around using Ancestral Awakening to make up for a lack of spell power, it's at least noticeable that the double dip is missing.
To my knowledge Ancestral Awakening does not double dip with other healing increasing effects; just the Shaman's own Purification talent.
So it doesn't double dip with a Warlock's amazing 20% or even 26% increased healing received from Fel Armor or talented Fel Armor.
Nor is it supposed to double dip with a Resto Druid's Tree of Life 6% raid wide healing received buff.
From what I've seen so far, it doesn't double dip this way on this server, which is good.
The most important aspect is that Ancestral Awakening should not get affected twice by effects like Mortal Strike, but it is on this server, and sadly on many other private servers.
An example a 1000 Lesser Healing Wave crit, generating a 330 Ancestral Awakening proc (with purification talent), should not get cut down to 165 if it lands on someone suffering the a reduced healing received debuff – the size of the heal was already reduced.
This has a huge impact on Ancestral Awakening's value in PvP, and in any boss fight where healing becomes reduced – such as Thane Skulldread.
I took the time to test and verify another edge case as well, which luckily works as it should but I thought I'd mention it.
Ancestral Awakening should not (and does not on this server from what I've been able to find) proc Earth Living Weapon.
So that's good 🙂
Images:
Two images, capturing a 508 LHW proccing a 152 AA, demonstrate that Purification does not apply a second time on AA as it should; 152 is 30%, not 33% as it becomes with Purification added on.
The other two images, capturing a 292 LHW proccing a 43 AA, demonstrate that MS is being applied both to the original LHW, and then again to the AA – rendering the heal much smaller than it's supposed to be.
